Sounds awesome. And a real conversation piece Grin

KatyaZamolodchikova · 30/03/2019 22:50

Please tell me where you commissioned this from, I know someone who would love a portrait of their cat as Alexander Hamilton and feel a gift buying mood coming on...

MightyAtlantic · 30/03/2019 22:51

Wow OP, the story of tonight will be great to tell in future! I hope you don't have long to wait for it. Grin

It's almost worth getting a cat just so I can do this too.

RocketSurgery · 30/03/2019 22:56

katya I’ve used a lady called Christina Hess. There are quite a few people on Etsy that do fairly cheap digital prints though.

Thanks Rocket, I’m on it!

YellowRibboninHerHair · 30/03/2019 23:07

You can’t be that drunk, you managed to spell commissioned!

sobeyondthehills · 30/03/2019 23:11

You can’t be that drunk, you managed to spell commissioned!

When I am drunk, apparently my grammar and spelling improve because I am trying so hard

poglets · 30/03/2019 23:37

I see you have already shared how, thankfully. I would have asked you. Clearly bonkers but in a good way.

WattdeEll · 31/03/2019 00:42

Curses! Now I want one. Must be the gin. Not Alexander Hamilton though. Maybe Anne Boleyn. Grin

How long do we have to wait before we see the finished piece?

I’m checking in.

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 31/03/2019 00:50

Rocket screw your cat.

Please run away with me and let's be mental together forever!

This is literally the best thread I've ever read on MN!

p.s. Yes, you're insane.

Tipmeover · 31/03/2019 02:05

How could you possibly regret this? I hope you have a magnificent mantelpiece over which you can hang it - or possibly a library where you keep your collection of family portraits Grin

In the cold light of day I think I actually like the painting even more. We’re in the process of redecorating our new house and the painting has taken up about a third of our entire budget. Still worth it. The new house has two front rooms, one of which I’m doing as a child free room. Hamiltoncat will go above the fireplace in there. The only other thing I’ve got for the whole house is a globe drinks cabinet which will also go in the child free front room. I think we’ll just have to have one amazingly lovely room and the rest of the house can just stay in a state of charming disrepair.

DD1 just pointed out that it is historically accurate as Martha Washington named a feral tomcat Hamilton.

Coffeebean76 · 31/03/2019 11:17

That is inspired....

francienolan · 31/03/2019 12:46

This is my favourite thread ever. A third of your decorating budget Grin What a legend.
