I'm in a new physical outdoors role

And I'm suffering a bit!! Hands are rough and sore and lips permanently dry.... any recommendations for good products?

Nails are also battered but I can wear gloves, just don't find them easy

I got an amazing aloe Vera lip balm on amazon after comparing ratings , I can’t remember its name but it’s so much better than any other I’ve tried.
I’m not sure about hand cream

edwinbear · 30/03/2019 21:32

I use the Cetraban DS was prescribed for eczema as a hand cream. Works brilliantly, comes in huge pots and really good value versus fancy handcreams.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 30/03/2019 21:34

Egyptian Magic Cream for both! I borrowed a mini pot from my Mum (she gets sent loads of free samples by one of her clients) when I went to visit ages ago and fell so deeply in love that I bought the giant sized one. It will last me a lifetime and still probably have a little leftover for embalming me once I'm gone.

Bezalelle · 30/03/2019 21:35

Nuxe Reve de Miel for lips.

MaryBoBary · 30/03/2019 21:37

My mum bought me the Clarins hand and nail cream for my birthday and it is brilliant. My job means my hands get very dry and rough but just a couple of days using this and they are lovely and soft. It soaks in really well and has a nice scent to it too.

Skinnypigs · 30/03/2019 21:37

Weleda skin food for your hands and Lansinoh nipple balm (lanolin) for your lips... I'm v outdoorsey and swear by both 👍

m0therofdragons · 30/03/2019 21:37

Lansinoh nipple cream is amazing for lips. I have a mini tube in my bag constantly and it's the only thing that actually makes a difference! Blush

SexNotJenga · 30/03/2019 21:38

Best lip balm I've ever used is one called something like 'yogurt of Bulgaria' (bought it in Bulgaria, strangely enough). Amazing stuff, matte finish, costs about £3 on eBay.

Most effective hand cream = neutrogena Norwegian formula.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 30/03/2019 21:38

Burts Bees lip balm, but only the original beeswax one, the other ones aren't as good.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 30/03/2019 21:39

Weleda skin food is amaaaaazing as a face cream, I guess its pretty good on hands as well.

greenelephantscarf · 30/03/2019 21:43

nivea blue pot for both

Awks · 30/03/2019 21:46

O Keefe's lip balm is just the best. Looks like shit but is brilliant.

L'Occitane Shea Handcream

KaywinnetLeeFrye · 30/03/2019 22:01

Cotswold Lavender make the best handcream I've ever tried:

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 30/03/2019 22:02

I’ve tried Burts Bees lipbalm after seeing it recommended a lot on here and found it really ineffective. I was having to reapply about every 30 mins.

Is it the original beeswax one? It's sort of pepperminty and quite thick? I tried that that one and it was amazing, so I decided to try a different burts Bees one and it was shit so I went out and bought the original again!

Rystall · 30/03/2019 22:09

After years of testing, I think the ‘ultimates’ are Carmex lip balm ( but the tub, not the tube) & L’occitane shea hand cream (25% not 20%)

greenelephantscarf · 30/03/2019 22:12

when my hands are really bad, I layer up. first a body lotion, when that's sunk in I put on either nivea blue pot or weleda skin food (which is amazing, but quite sticky)

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 30/03/2019 22:13

Body Shop Vitamin E lip balm is fantastic.

Palmers cocoa butter hand cream.

Ok101 · 31/03/2019 00:33

Oo following. My lips are so dry doesnt matter how much water i drink. They flake and peel numerous times a day. Anyone think of any reason why and how to stop it? Its quite painful too

OneInAMillionYou · 31/03/2019 00:43

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream. Have been using it for decades, not a single line around my lips 😀
