Vomit and calpol.

Dd 3.5 has the cough that seems to be going round.
Just just coughed so much she vomited all over herself (and the sofa. 🙄)

5 mins prior to this I’d given her calpol, it probably came up in all the vomit, though I didn’t see it, amongst the pombear and milk mixture (🤢)

Is it safe to give her more or not?

I wouldn't. I'd wait the 4 hours. But you could give her ibuprofen?

No, you can’t give more. Paracetamol has a fast absorption rate so you have no way of knowing how much was kept down in that 5 mins

Calpol won’t treat a cough in any case - you need cough syrup for that. Calpol is for pain and fever.

Calpol won't stop a cough. It is a painkiller with a useful secondary effect of reducing temperature.

Is your DD complaining of pain?

Also worth noting that milk and Calpol tend to coagulate in the stomach making the baby sick

Calpol makes some kids vomit. Try ibuprofen. You can give that even though she’s had the Calpol.

I presume the OP knows Calpol doesn’t stop a cough. DS has a vomiting bug, he had chills and temperature with it.

She doesn't need drugs for a cough. Just give her a warm honey and lemon drink. There's hundreds of home remedies for coughs available on the Internet. Keep the medications for when they're actually needed.
