Had another row about life admin today. We have the same one every few months.
My husband is generally great, he chips in with the housework on his days off, cooks tea, he's very hands on with dd and will do bed time/nappies all the actual parenting jobs and not just fun ones.
But he's shit with life admin.
He won't ring anyone or talk on the phone. He has a memory like a sive.
I schedule our entire lives, I manage all of our money, utilities, issues with the house, appointments for dd, childcare ect. I put him in charge of meter readings two years ago and he didn't do them despite telling me he was so when we moved we had a surprise £200 bill because the estimates were wrong.
He says i like to be in control and if he does it I'll just ask a million questions. But I have to ask because if I didn't he wouldn't get it done.
It's not just house stuff either a gift he got me for Christmas broke in January so I asked him to email and get a replacement. He still hasn't done it, I keep handing it to him and he says he'll do it but he doesn't. It's upsetting as it was a lovely gift but it feels pointless now.
I'm so defeated with it all but I don't know how to get him to care enough to get stuff done.
Blaming MIl completely as he never had to do any of this stuff before meeting me. She used to get up at 6am every morning to make him breakfast and wake him when he was 25!!!
