What's this book

I read it c.15 years ago...

Set in Glasgow, young girl, lived with her mum, was abused by (I think) her uncle. There was a dog, her dog.

It was so funny and so sad. Never before or since has a book made me laugh and cry on the same page.

Was it a book by Janey Godley about her life? Haven't read it but have heard of it.

Cliffdiver no problem, she's had some life from what I've read but is very funny.
