Stolen hanging basket

Yesterday I took my strawberry hanging basket down while I was gardening. Left it half way down the garden. This morning it is gone! I've searched the whole garden and there's no sign of it. I've a list of suspects:

My husband - why would he
My kids - why would they
My dog - although he's a Labrador I think a hanging basket full of strawberry plants is too much even for him.
A burglar - seems weird only to steal a single hanging basket, also the above dog barks when someone closes a car door three streets away so would definitely let me know if there was someone in the garden.
A fox - we think there are some living in next doors garden but as per the dog I'm not sure they eat hanging baskets.

Mumsnet please help me track it down!

Have you checked that someone hasn't seen it and placed into one of your bins thinking they were helping?

That and check the garage/shed if you have them.

Yep checked the bins. There's no space in the shed and I've got the key for it anyway. It's totally vanished.

Mystery solved. A confession from DH he's thrown it out as it looked broken

Were there any strawberries growing?
Because no strawberry plant is safe with our lab, she’s a criminal masterminds when it comes to strawberry theft.
(She has found her way into the greenhouse to steal strawberries through a closed door more than once)

Oh no, what an anti-climax, I was about to done my Miss Marple specs...get dh to buy a new one.

I know sorry, I thought that was going to be an exciting mystery! Ah well.

Well I'm glad you solved the mystery, and you've done me the great favour of reminding me about the stolen Christmas wreath thread! Does anyone else remember that? :)

I was just googling pictures of birds of prey and weight ratios.....
