Stupid fall... should DS1 get checked out?

DS1 was skateboarding to the bank earlier. Came a total cropper on the corner of a road and went down like a ton of bricks . Skinned his elbow, but is now really struggling to walk..he went down on his hip badly at speed and it's really painful. It's skinned and bruised obviously , but he has had many many injuries over the years and barely complained.

He struggled to drive tonight (he's 26 not a kid...still an idiot tho). He's taken Ibruprofen and has gone to bed with a bag of frozen peas to put on it, but if he still can't put his leg down properly tomorrow does it need minor injuries ?

He has has limited sympathy ... at 26 crashing off a skateboard is just embarrassing ! Grin

Trouble walking should always be checked. He needs to go to casualty. It's not that embarrassing! My DH fell off a bike aged 35 and broke his hip as if he were an old man!

26? He should have more skill by now!

Yeah, if it's still troublesome tomorrow morning he should take it to A&E. Could easily be a fracture.

Sorry OP but all I have in my head is an image of Bart Simpson in the opening sequence of the show!!

You (not him) do have my sympathy as it's the daft sort of thing my son does and he is 35 so there's not much hope for improvement!

Lovethetimeyouhave · 29/03/2019 06:54

I'd say he should go in...

I did this once off a bike, took 2 weeks before I could walk properly again, but still he should get checked

My 34 year old DH, who is a senior exec in banking, skateboards to the shop sometimes 🙄. You have my sympathies!
If he’s struggling to walk he should be checked. Minor injuries is probably the best place to go.

Cantfindname We always used to joke that if they ever wanted to make a real life Simpsons film DS1 was the boy... he even looked like Bart Grin
Still prone to stupidity bless him.. really he's just 9 with a beard Grin
