(I’m a student looking for my first job/internship)
How can I improve? I don’t even know if there’s any hope for people like me.
I’m ashamed to even ask for further interview help from my careers support team at uni because I’ll likely be the most difficult student
I prepare by researching the job role, the company, thinking and writing up sample answers to common questions, rehearsing before hand etc
Yet I’m still painfully embarrassing when being interviewed. I nod my head far too often (attempting to show I’m listening) and smile too much which probably makes me look unhinged. I waffle so much garbage missing the point of the question or my mind will go blank and forget most of my well thought of answers and end up saying something basic/brief
Nothing I say ever sounds ‘right’ either, I have no eloquence whatsoever. You’d think English were my second language 😩
