Bought the DDs a pizza play set from Lidl this morning but there’s a ‘topping’ I’m baffled by. The white circles - what are they?

Mushrooms?

StellaRae · 28/03/2019 14:11

Mozzarella? With freshly ground pepper?!

Drinkandknowthings · 28/03/2019 14:12

Not mushrooms - they’re separate.

Mozzerella - the large fresh ones with a bit of ground black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil are amazing!

NuffSaidSam · 28/03/2019 14:12

Mozzarella? Although I don't know what the grey markings are supposed to be!

BaronessBomburst · 28/03/2019 14:13

Artichoke?
White truffle? Grin

olderthanyouthink · 28/03/2019 14:14

It's a dice of mozzarella from a ball of mozzarella

olderthanyouthink · 28/03/2019 14:14

Slice!

Drinkandknowthings · 28/03/2019 14:15

Mozzarella seems to be the common theme - seems a bit sophisticated for a kids pizza toy!

It's got rocket. It's clearly a middle-class pizza set. Wink

Timeforabiscuit · 28/03/2019 14:18

Its got rocket leaves too looking at the picture - not a first food choice topping for any toddlers I know, bit strong for most adults.

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 28/03/2019 14:23

I would also guess mozzarella.

But what on earth are those dark slices supposed to be? I'd say pepperoni, but they look more like black pudding to me! (Unless it just looks too dark on my screen compared with the actual picture.)

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 28/03/2019 14:25

P.S. Nice set though, I'd consider it for my boys if they were younger.

Drinkandknowthings · 28/03/2019 14:27

The dark slices are brown with pink/purple spots. My 5 year old told me it’s salami despite the fact she’s never had salami in her life!

Mozzarella obviously!

It is very sophisticated pizza for a toddler with rocket, mozzarella, red onion. Most toddlers I know won’t enterain anything other than cheese and tomato, maybe I just know not very sophisticated toddlers

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 28/03/2019 14:28

And shouldn't there be an ingredients list? I'd get on to trading standards (or the correct department) if I were you. Get an ingredients list, calorie chart thingy, best before date etc put on the box. Grin

RogueV · 28/03/2019 14:30

Definitely mozzarella
