Birthday present for 15 year old girl

Please help! I need a birthday present for a 15 year old girl who is dear to me (not relation).

She is not make-up /Top Model girly at all. She is extremely tall, thin, alternative and quite cool. She is German, has been to the UK, will spend the next school year abroad. Hobbies are things like parcour, hiking, voluntary fire service. I would be happy to spend up to 40 quid (forgot last year's birthday!)
She is quite different to my own kids so I am quite flummoxed. Plus mumsnet is full of geniuses.

Something to do with hiking-survival such as stainless steel bottle, life straw, cool Swiss Army knife, Mary survival kit-compass/parachute cord bracelet

Hiking gear can be really cool now - a filter bottle (you can put river water in it) Patagonia sell really nice outdoors clothes - a multi way head band is always good as it works in summer and as a mask in winter. Binoculars perhaps?

Chilly’s water bottle - they have some amazing designs.

A nice backpack (would be good for hiking)
Or jacket possibly?

Patagonia and north face gear is really cool now. Patagonia probably more for her if she likes alternative stuff

Thank you for all your great ideas. You've all jumped on the hikey thing (which is my fault entirely Grin) but I think she's probably quite well equipped for that (although I have my eye on a Patagonia t-shirt). Can anyone think of any London / British themed things. Kinda like Cath Kidston London prints stuff, but there's nothing really on her site at the mo that doesn't scream. In my head I think a London landmarks onesie would be good. Or something like that....

She's also very green, organic right on....

Harrods have some London themed stuff here. I like the Links of London charms but they may be a tad too expensive.
