Hi, I am thinking of moving to Tunbridge Wells from London with my Children currently in year 7 and 6.
I am looking at a state school and viewed Skinner Kent Academy which seemed very nice with a lovely building, teachers and nice kids. Very calm.
Has anyone any knowledge about this school?
Ideally I would like to move to central TW so not sure how kids would get to school from there? Any info on that would be great too.
I know the transition with this would be an in year admission as I missed the application deadline on this but still hoping that things work out.
What are nice areas these days in TW? I am thinking of renting first to get a feel of the town before buying.
Thanks :))

I grew up in TW and would move back in a heartbeat. Dh would not because the traffic and parking drives him nuts.
Skinners was a great school from memory. Personally I love the grammar school system.
Do you need to commute? Tonbridge has a better train service but TW has a nicer feel to the town imo.
Lucky you!

@icelollycraving
Thank you for you reply 😃
I am actually looking more towards the Skinner Kent Academy as I missed the boat on grammar schools. Maybe there is a way later on in the process to get them in but for now I need a comprehensive school for them rather then grammar school.
Gosh traffic and parking doesn’t sound great but can’t be hopefully as bad as London.
🥺🥳

Ps
I will commute 3 days a week to London so not too bad. I looked at Tonbridge too but not much choice on comprehensive schools and I prefer the feel of TW.
Though I did like Tonbridge so maybe shouldn’t rule it out.
