Child, asthma or something else??

Child is being treated for ‘suspected asthma’ for almost 2 years. She will be 6 shortly and attends dance class. She has been going really red in the face and puffed at dance class. Her face is so red it looks like slapped cheek, she tires really quickly recently and seems unable for exercise, this has been happening for over 3 months, but not beforehand. Montelukaut hasn’t help inhalers have stopped the cough. (Has been taking them almost 2 years). Nurse increased the clenil inhaler yesterday. She also has been complaining of a pain in her left side almost constantly for 2 weeks. Having ruled out constipation/wind. I’m wondering is it asthma or is there something else wrong?? When will she be diagnosed or have tests?

Pain in left side for 2 weeks then I would certainly be pushing for a chest x-ray at least. Hope you get some answers very soon x

I told the nurse yesterday, she just said it was probably coming from the asthma! Even though she hasn’t been officially diagnosed! Thank you for your reply. There was no GP available yesterday. I will try to get one tomorrow. X

I have asthma and that comment does not make any sense whatsoever. When you say in her left side, do you mean chest or stomach? Is she coughing any phlegm up or struggling to walk? I would definitely want more answers if I was you. You don't get pain from Asthma, just wheezy and short or breath. Pain in chest could be an infection or something nasty lingering. Hope you get it sorted very soon x
