Opposite of my thread yesterday - I keep reading different things about whether you should drink after a procedure. Mine was very minor so I wasn’t under long at all. My pain relief is just paracetamol & ibuprofen. Quite fancy a nice chilled glass of rose 🍷

What did they use to put you under and how long ago was it?

I came round about 10.30 am. Not sure exactly what was used, only that I had a general rather than a local 🙂

I remember everything tasting of salt for about a week after I last had a GA, that was very disappointing!

Official advice is 24 hours

Gibble1 · 27/03/2019 19:18

24 hours. It could seriously affect your breathing- ie stop it. Don’t risk death for the sake of waiting for one evening.

I could taste the plasticy taste of the oxygen mask for a while but ok now

Also I didn’t have surgery - it was just a hysterescopy, stuck coil removal & a biopsy.

Hysteroscopy even

It’s not the surgery which poses the risk, it’s the anaesthetic.
