Stay in bed clock for older kids

My 2 kids (4&6) have started waking up horrendously early. We had a groclock a few years ago but now need something for them both and I'm not sure where the groclock went anyway. Can anyone recommend anything? I'm shattered!

Can the 4 yr old read numbers? If so, we just had a standard digital clock and told them that there had to be a 7 at the beginning before they came out (obviously adding in all the unwell/feel scared etc clauses)

We moved to a big display digital clock and used the same approach as @Dothehappydance once DD could recognise numbers and remember which one she needed to look at.

We also did a no nonsense rapid return until the allotted time and ultimately there were rewards for staying in their room until the right time. Such as TV time or being allowed to have fancy cereal.

Ok yeah that makes sense! I'm over complicating matters aren't I? No need for special clocks really!

Fairy lights on a timer will work if they can't read the time and you don't want to be woken by their alarm or they might take the battery out if the alarm
