Jeans size 14/16 for teenager

DD2(age 19) is in a complete state today as the jeans we ordered for her once again do not fit. It is so hard to find her anything that fits and is fashionable

Any suggestions for places to go?

Gap - check on line. Do all different styles & are a generous cut😊

moreismore · 26/03/2019 21:56

Budget? I like somewhere like Levi’s as there are a range of fits, they have loads of sizes in stock and the staff are knowledgeable AND there aren’t 20 other teenagers watching.

Other end of the scale-I am loving Sainsbury’s stretch fit skinny jeans as they are just high enough to hold flabby waist in without being ‘high waisted’

*Disclaimer I am not a fashionista

Strugglingmum73 · 26/03/2019 21:56

Primark have a million different cuts too. Cheap as chips and my teens love their jeans.

If she is a 14/16 Anywhere will fit her size, is the problem that she doesn't look as she would like to in them?

Notthecarwashagain · 26/03/2019 22:01

DD is very curvy in the bum.
She really liked the George Wonderfit skinny jeans.

They're out of stock in most sizes online at the moment, but definitely worth a try.

Enko · 26/03/2019 22:08

levis didnt fit.. and she is more towards a 16 than a 14.. Depending on fit.. her thighs are quite thick due to rugby playing.

The problem is she cant actually get them up over her thighs

I’ve got big thighs/bum (16) and a smaller waist(12-14)- the new look Yasmin skinny jeans work well for me, as do primarily cheapies. You want loads of stretch!

CRbear · 26/03/2019 22:11

*primark

exexpat · 26/03/2019 22:12

Monki, if you have a branch near you, or try online. DD is a similar size and also generously endowed in the thigh/calf/bum area, and has found some Monki styles really good.

She also often buys online from Asos and has told me that they have some system for working out what styles are most likely to fit you, based on previous purchases or brands you have already (not sure how it works as I have never bought from them).

Nnnnnineteen · 26/03/2019 22:15

What style is she trying? If she is trying skinnies, she would probably be better with boyfriend

Enko · 26/03/2019 22:15

She loves Monki but says their jeans run really small.

I don't want to go to Primark (happy with a supermarket type but not so happy w Primark)

We can afford to spend a bit of £ on them so they haven't got to be cheap as such I would prefer not to spend £200 + though but have paid up to £100 before for her siblings.

They actually show you models of different sizes, which is helpful, e.g. www.monki.com/en_gbp/clothing/jeans/product.oki-mid-blue-jeans-mid-blue.0224761003.html

Enko · 26/03/2019 22:16

She likes Mum jeans and High rise.. Does like skinny jeans but is aware she can't get them to fit so this is not what we have looked at.

If all else fails, post in S&B. Some of those posters could find you a unicorn.

Enko · 26/03/2019 22:19

ty @Nnnnnineteen I could NOT for the life of me remember what that board was called. Nor could I find it

OP posts:
Enko · 26/03/2019 22:19

@exexpat ty but we have tried Monki and they do not fit her.

I am a huge fan of the NEXT 360 skinnies. They are about £45ish but they are great - they don't go baggy at all even if you where them everyday for a week without washing Blush. I am a size 14-16 and the 16s are super comfy for my chunky thighs.

procrastinatingtoday · 26/03/2019 22:32

Oasis jade - skinny but with stretch

Diemme · 26/03/2019 22:50

At the risk of sounding a bit blunt, they don't fit her because she's ordering the wrong size. Size 14s and 16s don't go over my thighs either. Because I'm an 18-20.

hannah9176 · 26/03/2019 23:00

I love bershka jeggings, still convincing enough to look like jeans but super stretchy. They're about £15 on ASOS and come in loads of colours/styles.

TwoShades1 · 27/03/2019 00:18

Not in the uk so not sure about brands. Maybe try fashion nova online, I think they are for curvy women. Not to be rude but has she tried going up a size? Or is there a problem where the size that fits her legs/hips is too big in the waist?

Palominoo · 27/03/2019 04:31

I would go up a size and if the waist is big it takes a few minutes to put darts in or wear a belt.
