Is elephant and castle a safe place for a young female to live?
Looking for somewhere close to the city and not super expensive.

It depends exactly where you are thinking of living. Some of the houses are worth millions and yet within spitting distance you'll find an estate which won't be that nice.

Yes.

Assuming you're not involved in gang crime, no reason to worry

As is the case across London. There's random incidents everywhere, but very few actual unsafe areas if you're not already in danger.

Plus you're probably looking at all the new flats? In which case, yes, super super safe.

Who doesn’t adore heavy traffic?

olderthanyouthink · 26/03/2019 23:26

I used to cycle/bus through there daily, wouldn't want to live in the central bit. Some bits near there are nice but like pp said it's soooo close to not nice bits

Thank you all for the replies!

Would not want to live there. The Tesco in the shopping centre is currently closed due to a rodent infestation.

Why not look at Surrey Quays or Bermondsey?

I live there and love it! I'm 26 and female and always feel very safe. There's always plenty of people around at any time of day and it never feels scary or eerie. You're super close to central London (20 mins walk to Waterloo/London Bridge, 40 mins walk to Charring Cross/Covent Garden, 50 mins walk to Oxford Circus!

P.s feel free to ask any other questions!

The other thing to consider with E&C is how comfortable you are with being a beneficiary of social cleansing.
