Is the sight that greeted me today. On holiday in Tunisia on the 4th floor with a balcony and looked down.

Yuk yuk yuk. Old and wrinkly.

But to someone he may be their everything
This is the single, most beautiful thing, I’ve ever read on MN.
(Wipes away tear, looks lovingly at ‘sturdy’, oblivious husband, who looks back and smiles and says ‘What, why are you smiling at me?’)

Watched the episode the other day where Rachel’s mum saw him play a rather large instrument. Is your holiday UNG just as musical?

ballsdeep · 26/03/2019 19:53

I always wonder if I am going to end up on someone's Facebook or thread for looking like I do on holidays. Sad really. It's sad that everything someone does is pulled apart on social media

CaptainSquirrel · 26/03/2019 19:55

I agree that Palomino's comment wins the thread.

Ffs people it's lighthearted and clearly a friends joke!

No, op is using a friends reference to slag off someone. It's not a friends joke.

And I don't think calling someone that doesn't have any come back, ugly, old and wrinkly sounds particularly lighthearted. To me it sounds bitchy and judgemental. I know someone that does this shit on Facebook. One of our mutual friends said to me' and that's why I don't go to the beach on holiday, because of people like her '. So this kind of shit DOES affect how people feel about themselves. I don't think that's something to laugh at.

Babysharkdoodoodoodo · 26/03/2019 20:52

A) I don't really go on SM, apart from here
B) I wouldn't post this on SM
C) I know I'm no oil painting
D) The moment I saw him, I thought of Friends, hence UNG
And
E) Christ, talk about pot calling kettle black. You lot are really judgey McJudgefaces today.

There's a difference, I feel, between making personal comments about someone (ugly, old, wrinkly) behind their back for the sake of, what, entertainment?, and people making comments criticising a thread where you have the right of reply.

Palominoo · 26/03/2019 21:16

I didn't get the friends reference as I'm not a fan and have only ever seen a couple of episodes.

Saying you do not want to be surprised by a naked stranger or think there are places where you should always be clothed is fine by me. Calling them ugly is not in my book.
