Has my son just been sick?

Hi all

Serious emetophobe here. My son bent over getting something out of the footwell of the car and made gagging noises. Then what can only be described as saliva with a white blob in the middle appeared on his coat. He shouted 'I've been sick'. He's eaten since then and says he's hungry, that his tummy doesn't hurt and he feels fine. However, every time he coughs now I'm convinced he's going to be sick and my nerves are shot. What do you think? Sick or something else?

I wonder if he is winding you up if he knows how nervous you are about him being sick

golddigga · 26/03/2019 18:13

Sadly no... he's only three and it was very sudden

I remember doing this at school in reception (it was the only time a teacher ever told me off!). A bit of acid/reflux came back up my throat so I spat it out in the cloakroom and told the teacher I'd been sick, because I really did think I had been.

@JuniperSling I really hope it's something similar to that. He's been absolutely fine, and was absolutely fine in the run up to it, so fingers crossed. Thanks for your responses

I wouldn't say that was sick sick, I'd say it was something shifting from the back of his throat - as u say saliva - really nothing to worry about. If it were sick you'd know trust me 😑

Hughes12345 · 27/03/2019 10:24

No that’s not sick.

PazRaz10 · 27/03/2019 10:28

Sounds like he coughed up phlegm from on his chest.

Bleary3000 · 27/03/2019 10:30

I'm going to say.....not sick

Thanks everyone. Well there was nothing else at all last night and he's in a great mood today... Although he walked into nursery this morning and announced 'I was sick last night!' so cue me having to explain to them that he wasn't, amid many dirty looks from the other parents Blush.
