Does anyone else get the urge to play houses in Ikea or is it just me?

It's just me isn't it? I'm obsessed with the tiny houses/studio flats that they have and would love to spend a night in one. The rooms are fun too. It's like an adult version of playing house(s). I don't actually do it but I love the idea.

Does anyone else get childish impulses like this?

You are not alone...I love the little studio flat layouts...they are so perfect. I too would like to stay in one overnight, but would also want the toilets/bathroom bits to be plumbed in! 😁

I love the part in Grey’s Anatomy where Cristina goes into the furniture shop and says ‘I’ll take this. All of this’ and gestures at the perfectly done up display. That’s what I’ll do when I win the lottery!

I used to love going to IKEA with my best mate & pretending we lived there. Never bought a thing. Now I’m a proper adult we only go when we need something so need a get in buy it get out approach with DP & DSD, otherwise it would take hours to round them both back up.

Yes, I sad down and fed my newborn in one of the 'flats' felt a little strange when another family wondered in 😂

I love to play houses. Luckily the kids are at the age where they indulge me. Dp... not so much Grin

I always fantasize about buying a studio just so I can 'Ikea' it Blush

yanbu
nothing better than a leisurely bf in a comfy bed.

TheQueef · 26/03/2019 18:33

I like to embarrass my pal and pose in the layouts. She hates it when I get in the beds but it's the only way to entertain myself after the cafe.

I love it and do the same. If I ever buy a house it will be tiny so I find IKEA quite comforting.

Witchend · 26/03/2019 18:38

We used to love doing that in MFI when I was little. All our furniture came from MFI (unless df made it from scratch)so we spent quite a lot of time there at times.

Every time. I like to imagine I'm living in London in a cute little flat with a NYC style balcony outside the fake window where I grow herbs.

EnidButton · 26/03/2019 18:50

Sometimes I let DH in too.

LiquoriceLane · 26/03/2019 19:24

Oh yes, plumbing is a must!

FeralWeegiePigeon. That's exactly what I'd love to do. Buy one of their studio flats exactly as it is. They're so adorable and so perfect.

I'm very relieved to know that I'm not alone. Why can't ikea do sleepovers? I'd love to have a little room or better yet a studio flat to myself for the night so I can play houses(secretly) to my heart's content.
