CBD oil for anxiety - has anyone tried?

My anxiety is creeping up lately, and I am tempted to try CBD oil.

I just wondered if anyone had tried and whether it worked or not?

I'm following your thread OP as I've also heard great things about cbd oil for anxiety so am keen to also try it.

Thanks stroller, I’ve just bitten the bullet and ordered some for delivery tomorrow so I’ll let you know how I get on with it.

It possibly could. No real evidence. I take very low dosage thc gummies when I'm anxious and that does the trick. I use cbd for foot pain and it's never helped with the anxiety.

Although you probably can't get anything like thc chocolate/gummies there so I'd advise essential oils. I've felt my anxiety about an upcoming trip getting overwhelming and having my little rag/cloth with different oils on is a lifesaver! I'm not woo or hugely crunchy either. Grin

My Dh takes it from time to time.
His problem isn’t anxiety so much, more stress.
I can honestly say that it works really well for him!
I’ve tried it and it made me feel quite chilled out, not ‘stoned’.

Does nothing for me, but then I have to take practically lethal doses of any drug for it to have any effect. Or else I just get the side effects but not the effects.

It effects people differently I don’t react at all but weirdly it does improve my hay fever and allergies. Don’t bother with high street get from a specialist company.

pinkgloves · 27/03/2019 09:58

@Houseworkavoider it would t make you feel stoned. It doesn't have the drug in that does that. That's why it's legal.

I don't think you can expect instant results. You need to start it low and slow. If your dose is too much it will exacerbate symptoms.

If you look at Simply CBD on fb there is a support group which is really informative, lots of experiences of different oils and their content etc. There is no one size fits all.

Re the placebo effect, many people on there swear that it has helped/healed their animals. Take from that what you will.

I have it, from Holland and Barrett, i'be tried using it for managing pain but it doesn't have a big affect and I believe you need to take it over a period of time for it to work. It's quite cheap so you could try and see!

I use a wintergreen liniment from H&B containing CBD, and it certainly mellows me out.

HolyForkingShirt · 27/03/2019 13:13

I tried some Dutch Oil from LoveCBD and absolutely nothing happened. Nada.

Honestly, I tried CBD oil to fight anxiety and insomnia, and it works for me. However, I don’t use it when I’m breastfeeding or pregnant. Even though CBD oil is almost innocent, it still contains some THC in it. So, I'm also afraid to give it to my children. Despite that, it doesn’t work for my husband. He tried to fight insomnia with it, but it just doesn’t work. He has a stressful job, and I want to help him to relax and recover during the night. Sometimes, he smokes a joint and orders bulk cannabis from one online store. I don’t mind him smoking weed as long as he knows his limit, and it does not harm our life.

I find it helps with being unable to switch off at night and has a mild effect on anxiety. I'd recommend CBD Brothers products. They are the best I've tried.
