Do you have your own side of the bed?

It seems people are shocked that couples change sides of the bed. Do you? I have my side of the bed in my home, but sleep on the opposite side at DPs. I'd never thought of it before reading this article!

Ex always insisted I slept nearest to the door so DC would come to me in the night and not him. Now I take whatever the cats leave me!

I’m always on the right side - in bed, and in life generally Grin

StarlightLady - we had covered that ground way before bedtime don't worry Grin

I'm on the right. In our old house, it was by the window and a straight line to the ensuite. Baby was 6m when we moved here and BFed, so sticking to the right by the door worked best for frequent night feeds.

I nearly always gravitate to the right in a hotel. When we went travelling and had a different room every few nights, I generally veered to the right unless there was a dominant factor such as the bed being against a wall. It's easier for DH to climb over me than for me to climb over him.

I went to bed. On dh’s side. I pretended to be asleep when he walked in the room a bit later. He walked in, stopped in his tracks, dramatically inhaled and then exhaled, then got onto my side.

Im back on my side now. I didn't like it.

Hadenoughofitall441 · 27/03/2019 22:18

Yep, when we used to go away at the weekends we would sleep on which ever side in the hotels then realised we both weren’t sleeping properly, changed sides and sleep was restored. No I sleep on the left and him on the right wherever we go 😊

Witchend · 27/03/2019 23:23

Yes. I have the middle half. Dh comes to bed after me usually and I generously give him the outside quarters. Grin

We have two bedrooms

In one I’m on the left and in the other I’m on the right. DH is closest to the door in case of murderers.

I always sleep on the right, as you lay on the bed. I need to be near to the bedroom door, which is always wide open for the bathroom, which also has the door wide open.
If we are away the same applies, to the point where we sleep upside down on the bed so i can be on the right nearest to the bathroom door if the door is on the opposing side.
Housekeeping must think we are insane.

You are a wicked woman!! 🤣🤣

Happynow001 · 28/03/2019 06:35

This keeps cropping up on threads. I never realised how vulnerable I am!! 🤣
dh always sleeps closest to the door- he thinks I'm kind and letting him have the easiest route to the toilet but like a few pp I do it so he gets murdered first.

Japonicaflower2 · 28/03/2019 07:06

I have the bliss of a King-sized bed all to myself 😄, so I sleep in the middle with no one breathing on me, kicking or snoring.
Heavenly!

Shortandsweet96 · 28/03/2019 07:10

DP always sleeps 'drivers side'. Even when we go away he always sleeps on the right. It's so God damn annoying.
I've never had a say in what side I get and we went to a really nice hotel and the doors out to look over the water was beautiful, I asked to have the side nearest the doors and he point blank refused. Sometimes I think he puts it on abit because I made a thing about it being weird that he calls it drivers side when we first got together.

Always on the left. Its NOT POSSIBLE for me to sleep on the other side. Never.

Furries · 28/03/2019 22:34

King sized bed and I’m single. However, I sleep on whichever side that the cats have left any room for me!!
