Has anyone applied for ESA before?

I'm looking to apply today.

I was just wondering, how long after applying via the phone can I expect to receive any money? I know I'll have to scan my 'Fit note' through.

P.S, I know actually having the interview and being placed in a group etc takes longer. I'm just wondering about the initial payment.

It might be universal credit you'll be applying for. Double check.

It wasn't long, 2-3 weeks then you had a week to send in your fit note. The assessment was later, about 2 months then, though dd had convinced an employer to take her by then (the thought of an assessment was enough to make her go and get work, she's asd)
