Any wordsmiths out there able to give me an example of pathos and bathos in a sentence?

There’s a good example of bathos in Pride and Prejudice about Mr. Darcy... let me see if I can find it. “Mr. Darcy soon drew the attention of the room by his fine, tall person, handsome features, noble mien, and the report, which was in general circulation within five minutes after his entrance, of his having ten thousand a year.” I actually used that example successfully with year nines a few years ago, resulting in them creating their own examples. I seem to remember one describing a rugby player wearing pink ballet shoes going down particularly well!

Pathos is just anything that catches in your throat. Maybe this from HP? “Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right, and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory.“
