Hotmail emails not being recieved

For a week I have not been recieving all emails sent to my hotmail account (but have been recieving a few random ones). I hsve tried asking advice through the help desk but it doesn't seem to be a very efficient service as they are taking around 5/6 hours to answer each message (rather than a back and forth like on a Live Chat).
Can anyone suggest anything else I can do to rectify the problem?

Check spam folder ?

Have you logged into the webmail portal and seen if the emails are showing there, and not being forwarded to whatever device you are using ?

While it's absolutely no help at all, I had to move away from Hotmail after nearly 20 years as it was getting too flaky and untrustworthy, so I suspect there's Something Going On ....

Are the emails not arriving to your inbox or just not thru your phone? DW often has to force syncing of her inbox on her phone, but inbox is fully updated thru iPad or Laptop. I went thru a period of phone email programme never updating outlook inbox, until I switched to gmail app, which worked fine thereafter.

Also has the account been setup/switched to two-factor-authentication ? When I did that I needed to generate a special code for my phone to be able to sync mails.
