How long til periods return after three weeks of breastfeeding?

Will they return sooner than if I’d breastfed for longer? My last baby I fed til she was 2 and a half and I can’t remember when periods returned but She was definitely older than one! TIA

Anyone? My baby is 8 weeks old on Wednesday and I stopped feeding at 3 weeks, still no period!

Should be. My DD is breastfed and 13 weeks old and my period came back on Friday (albeit incredibly light) so who knows! My first DD was fully formula fed from about six weeks and my period came back exactly four weeks after the last time I expressed. Think it varies.

It really is a 'how long is a piece of string' situation. I bfed DS1 for 2 weeks and didn't get my first period until he was 6 months old. Some people get them back very quickly though.

Havelock - yes possibly I ordered some first response last night in amazon so they should be here today and I’ll do a test.

I’d be happy if I was, we wanted a small age gap but probably more like an 18 month age gap not a 10 month one! It took us 6 months to conceive dad though so I doubt it. But we will see!

I'm still breastfeeding (4 months) and I got a period at 8 weeks and nothing since (CD 72 now) I think it's a bit random tbh

actually what you'll need is vast quantities of gin but you can't have it when pregnant unfortunately

I have a 14 month old little boy who is still breastfed and only had 3 periods in his lifetime. I got pregnant in november (it happens when it happens attitude) without a period but sadly miscarried at the end of Jan. I'm possibly having a chemical miscarriage again this month it's a wait and see thing at the moment. My last period was in September x

It's likely that they will return sooner than if you were still breastfeeding but they don't necessarily come back as soon as you stop. Personally speaking, I mix fed both DC for only about 5/6 weeks but they were both still around 3-4 months when my periods returned.

I expressed for 5.5 weeks for dd1. Period came back at 3 months so don't panic yet!
