My absolute favourite are ones where you get a snap shot of people’s lives in the recent past. For example “How did you see in the new millennium?”
I also really like the Sunday ones when people tell you their plans and what they are having for dinner. I find it very comforting.
I like the woo ones too and conspiracy theory threads but I tend to reread the ones in classics as they don’t se to get off the ground so much at the moment.

OP posts:

I like what my sister would call “slice of life” threads. I like birth stories and stories about people meeting celebrities that have been down to earth.

Magmatic80 · 24/03/2019 16:06

I like the ones that are funny, where people share an anecdote about their lives, and most are completely hilarious situations. Eg ‘reasons my toddler is crying’

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 24/03/2019 16:16

I like the ones about people's meal plans and Sunday activities. I also like ones where a poster IBU and everyone is telling them and they don't believe it.

I also like ones where people reply to a totally normal questions in such a batshit way. There always one about school shoes recently and nearly everyone said that the OP was U not to stick rigidly to the uniform policy.

lucysmam · 24/03/2019 16:20

Nosey ones; what folks are up to, what's for tea, how often towels/bedding are washed, type threads :)

BlueMerchant · 24/03/2019 16:21

Woo

ArabellaDoreenFig · 24/03/2019 16:24

Food, any type of food thread! Sunday lunch threads, kids lunch boxes, food budgets and my all time favourite- Christmas food !!

00100001 · 24/03/2019 16:25

The ones that have sarcastic responses.

Woo threads.

FairfaxAikman · 24/03/2019 16:26

Cheeky Fucker threads - I can never believe that people are quite so forward.

according · 24/03/2019 16:27

Woo and / or conspiracy threads

Sporner threads involving earwax Blush

Any threads where posters share facts e.g. what is your earliest memory, who is the nicest famous person you've met etc.

Pet picture threads.

madeyemoodysmum · 24/03/2019 16:29

I hate brexit threads now always ends in an argument much like parliament Angry

missmouse101 · 24/03/2019 16:29

Ones on phrases/words/things that annoy you. Parking ones too!

RhymingRabbit · 24/03/2019 16:29

CFs

"I have a brilliant future behind me."

"Am I too old to wear a raincoat, at 40?"

"How could you possibly send your tiny 13 year old child away to boarding school for a full two weeks?"

"That was the best Archers episode ever!"

marvellousnightforamooncup · 24/03/2019 17:28

I like the ones with silly typos that derail the thread with a wave of puns.

NinnieNouse · 24/03/2019 18:09

@Marvellous Snapped and Farted

Embonkment · 24/03/2019 18:15

I like reading the GCSE and A level education threads, no idea why as I don’t have kids in that age range. Maybe because I went through it a few years ago and feel I can relate.

I am surprised at how much personal info is shared though, and wonder if the kids know that their parents are divulging all sorts of info about their grades, schools, health, friendship issues on an open forum. I am sure some of the individuals could be easily found given minimal effort.

Sparklingbrook · 24/03/2019 18:20

Anything without Brexit, Trans or parking. Also any thread without 'CF' in the title.

I like the threads where everyone is watching a TV programme together and commenting.

ServelikeSerena · 24/03/2019 18:27

I love wedding threads.
Especially the childfree or destination ones.
I've been married a long time and the whole wedding business has changed so much it's a real eye opener.

ChristineBaskets · 24/03/2019 18:28

I like ones about mysteries and events from history.

I love ones where the posters have loads of in depth knowledge of niche subjects. When the Malaysian airplane went missing there was a poster who worked in airplane investigation and she knew so much about the subject.

I really like threads where you find out other people are also obsessed with the same very obscure thing you are.

Palominoo · 24/03/2019 18:30

I like laughing at the remoaners frothing.

Pet photographs.

Ones where the Op believes they are in the right but not a single poster agrees with them and the op gets in an almighty strop.

Guess the book or film that the Op only has a vague description of.

Bizarre problems that wouldn't be a problem to anyone else but the Op.

Guess the object found in an attic or bought in a charity sale.

Oldieandgoldie · 24/03/2019 18:32

Long interesting ones😀.

TSSDNCOP · 24/03/2019 18:43

Masterchef, Strictly and GBBO threads

Ones that send the posters in a completely unpredictable direction

Ones where the OP is so phenomenally unreasonable and brings in a sock puppet before flouncing

The Kate/MM thread in S&B

FeralWeegiePigeon · 24/03/2019 18:59

I have a sad love of travel threads- where are you going on holiday, best place you've been. I especially enjoy journey planning threads, even the really boring ones like 'best place to stop on the M3' Blush

HelmutFrontbut · 24/03/2019 20:54

Anything to do with cats.

What are you having for dinner.

Northern vs southern threads.

I also secretly love the 'My DP hasn't come home' threads Blush

missmouse101 · 24/03/2019 21:53

Guinea pig photo threads!
