Good sling for someone who is slim

I am looking to find a new sling but am really struggling. At the moment I have the Stokke mycarrier and Caboo DX Go. I love how easy the Stokke is to put on but I find the caboo more comfortable to wear. I can't do the caboo alone.

I need something simple to put on - I have dyspraxia and really struggle if there's too many bits to do, whilst holding the baby.

My biggest issue is finding something that does up tight enough - I am a size 6 on top and neither the Stokke or caboo will tighten enough. It was ok ish in the winter with lots of layers, but both are too big with just a t-shirt and jumper.

I know the obvious solution is to try a library but there's nothing locally for weeks so looking for a few recommendations of something easy to put on, that will really tighten up. Baby is 7 months old so doesn't need to be suitable for a newborn.

Thanks Smile

I'm petite and I used a stretchy wrap sling (like a Moby wrap) but in which the material was pre-fixed in a cross at the back so all I had to do was put my head and arms through it, pop the baby in the front and tighten it round my waist in a knot.

It was really easy to use (and like you I didn't want the hassle of a piece of fabric I had to wrap around myself).

It didn't have fixed buckles or anything so could be tightened as much as needed.

Am really struggling to find the brand, it was 6 years ago sorry! Hoping someone will read this and remember...

A Manduca might be suitable? I’m short and like you a 6 on top and can get it tight enough; it’s very adjustable. There are lots of adjustable bits but once you’ve got it right for your build once it’s simple to put on, you just put your arms in like a backpack and fasten at the back. At 7 months baby shouldn’t need too much holding while you do that bit.

I had that problem with a mei tei...couldn't get it tight enough.

I used a mother are own brand one with clips like on a back pack

I found a Tula tightened up enough for me (also short and slim).

Thanks for these suggestions. I particularly like the look of the manduca - one thing DD doesn't like about the DX go is that her arms are in the carrier - but it looks like she could be more free in the manduca.

I had a manduca and it was great. If you want something a little less structured it’s worth looking at a connecta too, again once the bands have been adjusted to your size it’s a simple buckle clip to put on and off.
