Do you miss the end of rugby or the beginning of cricket?

Just a quick one..... DS is 7. I’m sure lots of you have kids who do both these sports. They overlap by I think only a week this year... do you normally finish rugby training and start cricket late, or miss the last week or two of rugby to start cricket?

Ours train for both on different days so we never have to miss either. I don't think the coaches would look too harshly upon a 7 year old missing either, though.

If they clash, you miss the end of rugby as the season is about to end. If you miss the beginning of cricket, your DC might be behind, not selected for the team, miss some aspect of training, not get settled with friends etc.

Speak to both coaches.

The last few weeks of the rugby season still involve matches etc.

Which does your son prefer?

Probably rugby but mainly because it’s what he knows.... he hasn’t done cricket since end of last season. It’s all a bit of fun obviously as he’s 7! Last tournament for rugby is next weekend so no matches to miss but they do give out medals and stuff I think on the last day.
