Watching Once upon a time, and just thinking, why do Anna and Elsa wear such different clothing?

So that Disney can sell twice as many polyester costumes Grin

wowfudge · 23/03/2019 11:51

So you can tell them apart.

Mmmmbrekkie · 23/03/2019 11:52

My sister and I wear very differently clothes.

Different tastes!

TowelNumber42 · 23/03/2019 11:53

So that small children (and my DH) can tell them apart easily.

ShirleyPhallus · 23/03/2019 11:53

The fact they were different clothes is the biggest conundrum to you?!

Not the talking snowman, or the fact someon can turn whole lands in to ice?!

MeAgainAgain · 23/03/2019 11:53

Why would they wear the same clothes?

If they're princesses presumably they can afford to buy clothes to their own tastes.

I don't really understand why you think they should be more similar?

MeAgainAgain · 23/03/2019 11:54

The main thing that bothered me was how they pronounced Anna.

ShadowMane · 23/03/2019 12:00

It's the fully nylon plastic Elsa dress, against the wholesome cotton/wool Anna dress that confuddles me...

I can live with all the magic and stuff

Elsa doesn't feel the cold. Anna does so she wraps up. Probably.

implantsandaDyson · 23/03/2019 12:11

Apparently the cold never bothered Elsa anyway

NuffSaidSam · 23/03/2019 13:01

They're very different people with different styles.

Plus as pp said Elsa doesn't feel the cold.

KurriKurri · 23/03/2019 14:15

Elsa is older and more sophisticated (and a little odd) so she goes for off the shoulder evening gowns (all the time).
Anna is more of an outdoor girl, she hangs out with snowmen, reindeer, and random bits of rough she picks up - so she favours capes, bodices and boots.

They will end up living together in their old age, having lots of cats and wearing shapeless fringed kaftans and strings of beads, they will glug sherry and tell risque stories about outdoorsmen they have known.

I don’t care about their clothes! I care about being repeatedly corrected by my four year old when I’m reading her bedtime story, and I keep forgetting to say Onna instead of Anna - it’s the Bain of my life! Especially when I’m tired and i just want to get bedtime done with. Why did they do that??
