Fluffyears · 22/03/2019 18:14

I don’t oven the I grill them. Much better, healthier too.

Low and slow OP for pork chops. Pork is a meat that takes its time. Drizzle in olive oil , cover in foil and 160 /170 fan for about 40 mins. Turn half way through. Serve with apple sauce and jobs a gooden!

Or these? It's actually in my very old Dairy Cookbook, but this site has "lifted" it. I've made it dozens of times

Assuming your chops are thick. If thin reduce time but low & slow. Pork takes time and can't be rushed!

tessiegirl · 22/03/2019 18:19

200 in oven for 30 mins. Always put a bit of salt on the find before cooking. Tasty!

tessiegirl · 22/03/2019 18:20

Sorry, rind

MargaretOfAnjou · 22/03/2019 18:21

Don't grill, pork is dry . Grill it and you may as well serve serve cardboard. Roast( with flavours, apple, garlic, rosemary) . Low and slow is the way to go!

MargaretOfAnjou · 22/03/2019 18:22

What @tessiegirl said.

MargaretOfAnjou · 22/03/2019 18:27

HelmutFrontbut · 22/03/2019 18:28

If you're my mother, you just shove them under the grill.

If you're me, you marinate them in oregano, red wine and garlic.

Thanks everyone! Some great ideas.

Seasoned flour, fry and oven them for about 10 minutes. And use the pan juice for gravy

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2019 19:46

Dip in seasoned flour, then beaten egg, then dry Paxo sage and onion stuffing. Make sure they have a good coating. Place on greased oven tray/dish. Bake in 200 oven around 30 mins.

Serve as if a roast: potatoes, veg, gravy, apple sauce.

Lovely!

Back in the day when all this was fields you could get a doorstop pork chop with kidney still attached. Fried was the way to go back then. Boo to food safety standards. I want my kidney.

BoreOfWhabylon · 22/03/2019 20:34

I remember those time Fourq. I can still get chops of any thickness I want from the local farm shop. No kidney though, but I don't miss them.

supadupapupascupa · 22/03/2019 23:30

I find oven or grill too tough and dry. Best way is a quick fry. Crisp on the outside, still moist in the middle yum!
