Has anyone been on any yoga/meditation retreats abroad that they'd recommend?

I've got a BIG birthday coming up at the end of this year.

I thought I'd take myself off alone to a retreat abroad for 7-10 days. No children, no husband, no dog. Yehhh!

Any recommendations? I do fancy somewhere totally different like Costa Rica but have zilch idea of where I'd go. And I know it will be costly...

Not super expensive or luxurious so may not be what you are looking for, but Lucy is a great teacher, you get to eat wonderful local Italian food and the village setting is idyllic.

They also now do spin offs in Costa Rica

I went on a 10-day yoga retreat in Goa pre-kids in an eco-resort. I’m so glad to have done it when I had the time and money, it was amazing.

I haven’t done it personally but I really really would like to do this. (The yoga, walk in Spain) The Coe of TomaandCoe is someone I knew when I was young and I remember him to be open, warm and charismatic. So I think it’s reasonable to assume that is how he would run his tours.

I absolutely loved Kaliyoga in Spain (they have a place in Tuscany too). I DREAM of going back but soon after had kids and it’s adults only. I recommend it to everyone. Best treat I’ve ever given myself.

We offer retreats in Central Portugal on a really be-oo-tiful and peaceful farm. The yoga studio is in a converted barn with vaulted timber ceilings. Our rooms are all unique in design, and our spacious Rose Cottage leads on to the meditation garden. We have regular retreats but we can also tailor the retreat to suit you. Our meals are healthy vegetarian fare sourced from the garden or locally. We also have horses, and miles of country walks... it is really peaceful. Let me know if you need any more information.
