I was talking to a friend who works in HR the other day, and she was saying that there is often a link between companies with recognised trade unions and enhanced maternity packages - particularly where they have good reps who negotiate a better package on behalf of all employees.
Has anyone experienced this?
She also said it's really important that unions ask for it in negotiations, and sometimes they don't. So if you're in a union, make sure your rep is fighting your corner on this.
