Is there any way of muting what’s app?

I need to be able to receive calls and texts but any idea if I can do that whilst silencing what’s app on my iPhone?

I’ve worked out how to mute certain conversations so that’ll do for now.

Yes (well, on android, anyway, so it's worth a go) on the first screen, click on the three dots go into settings, then notifications. My first option is a slide car for conversation tones.

Slide bar, not car.....

You can turn off notifications in your phone’s settings.
