This is a strangely fascinating thread!

A couple of hundred in cash in the house and about £5/6k if we cleared our accounts. If we needed to borrow from family then a lot more but wouldn't unless it was utter emergency like the house completion example above

grannieanne · 21/03/2019 00:24

@Adora I won't tell if you cut me in on a share 😂

Dramatical · 21/03/2019 00:32

I'm amazed people feel happy answering this kind of question

Why? They can say whatever they like!

I have access to £50k or I have access to £2.70 - you have no idea which, if any is true, and even if you did, there is literally nothing you could do with that information.

OnlineAlienator · 21/03/2019 00:34

Less than £100

Chesneyhawkes1 · 21/03/2019 00:38

3 weeks ago about 160k without borrowing.

This week about 5k I reckon. All went on deposit for our house.

BlueSkiesLies · 21/03/2019 00:46

Probably £30k of personal wealth if I shifted money about in accounts and went to a pawn brokers and cashed in my TV, laptop and some bikes. Haven’t got loads of cash savings at the moment. Would also need to take cash out on my credit cards and max my overdraft.

Probably £100k if I hit up all my family and friends as well.

AutumnCrow · 21/03/2019 00:54

71 million pounds.

MissLadyM · 21/03/2019 01:15

A few milliion no probs but id rather eat my own foot than access it

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 21/03/2019 01:19

Money that is mine, £2000.

Overdraft/credit card maxed out/ borrowing all my parents savings - about £25000

Bamchic · 21/03/2019 02:19

Currently. About 103 quid. But my direct debits for the Internet/phone and my one to British Gas go out on friday. So after that £3.55

Decormad38 · 21/03/2019 02:24

Considering Mumsnet can access addresses some how on another thread no way an I disclosing this info here!

DailyMailFuckRightOff · 21/03/2019 02:37

£1.42.

Only kidding.

But why?

Meretricious · 21/03/2019 02:42

Why are you going to kidnap the winner and hold her to ransom? yep.

I was catching up on Shetland where the mum gets hold of 30k and it just set me off pondering.

lboogy · 21/03/2019 03:17

x2boys · 21/03/2019 08:26

Maybe £50,but I need tat to live on until next week i live in a different world....

BarbaraofSevillle · 21/03/2019 09:13

In the days of instant bank transfers, there's probably a lot less need to get large sums of cash out of the bank, or keep it in the house, unless you want to keep the money/transaction 'off record'.

I certainly remember the days when buying a second hand car for more than a grand or two involved ordering the money in advance from the bank.

Much easier now, DP sold his car the other day and the buyer did a bank transfer on his phone while standing in our front garden.

We don't keep much money in the house, so without going to the bank, we could only lay our hands on £50 if that. If we are rounding up assets we have, such as cash and premium bonds, a few thousands, or if we are rinsing all the credit cards, possibly about £20k - note to self - get some limits reduced.

HarrySnotter · 21/03/2019 11:17

About £30k.

NameChangeNugget · 21/03/2019 11:22

Are you George Agdgdgwngo?

BitchQueen90 · 21/03/2019 11:22

Whatever is in my bank account. So currently £300 ish. I have a savings account but it takes 3 days to process cash withdrawals. I don't keep cash in the house.

blueskiesovertheforest · 21/03/2019 11:27

Meretricious are you choosing who to rob? I wonder why people are answering! Presumably they're all lying to befundle you... Wink The ones saying 56p are millionaires and the ones saying 100k haven't got two pennies to rub together...

BoogleMcGroogle · 21/03/2019 11:29

Of my own money? About 5k. Even cash investments would take longer than 24 hours to liquidate. I suppose I could get a cash advance on my credit card. Can you still do that?

PinkHeart5914 · 21/03/2019 11:37

If I’m allowed to the bank then thousands but not sure how the bank would be, I took out 5k in cash once and the bank were very suspicious and kept asking if I was ok.

If I have to find it round the house etc then £5 in cash if I’m lucky as I always use card for everything these days.

KnitterOfSocks · 21/03/2019 11:45

Probably about £15k. That would be selling my car to one of those immediate cash places, and £5k in our slush fund that is in an instant access account. If I had another week or so, I could get another £10k out of the mortgage which we have overpaid

KnitterOfSocks · 21/03/2019 11:46

And the last time I took significant amounts of cash out, it was to pay our roofer (£2500). They asked me what it was for, and I said "drugs and hookers". I suspect I am now on a "list" somewhere... They did give me the money though, so I suspect I may have thought I was funny, but they were just eyerolling at me...
