I'm skint so fuck all.

Megan2018 · 20/03/2019 22:35

About £15k in cash
Could borrow more from family and about £25k on credit cards.
But I wouldn’t!!

babyworry2018 · 20/03/2019 22:40

All the people saying 40, 50, 100k - are you sure you can just walk into a bank and get that much cash? I once took 20k out of a bank account in cash (I was repaying a loan to a relative who wanted it in the post office so it couldn't be a transfer so we literally walked it around the corner)

I seem to remember above a certain limit they have to order the cash in.

I do often think about how we'd fair if we had to suddenly go on the run. Having thought about it the amount of cash we could currently raise would barely pay first months rent, a deposit and a plane ticket so I guess the answer is not very well!

bugaboo218 · 20/03/2019 22:40

£150 k cash if I could get to bank. This excludes savings/ ISAs etc.

From my purse right now £228.07p

Not included DH in this.

Brightpinktulip · 20/03/2019 22:46

Me personally? About £1200 I always have a few hundred hid in the house.

I could rally the family up to probs about. 10/15k. Banks won't let you takeout huge amounts without a lot of checks, I used to work in one.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 20/03/2019 22:48

I'm amazed people feel happy answering this kind of question.

polkadotpixie · 20/03/2019 22:49

In my purse: £9.68
Savings: just under £5K
Credit card: £1500 limit

Not sure I'm worth kidnapping tbh!

I could probably borrow roughly the same again from my Mum if desperate

thaegumathteth · 20/03/2019 22:49

Probably about 40k but 10 would be on credit card

FabulouslyFab · 20/03/2019 22:50

Not a lot!

GreenTulips · 20/03/2019 22:52

From a street corner 3p

Asking for a friend - Which street corner?

olderthanyouthink · 20/03/2019 22:52

Did work experience in a high street bank, you can't take much out cash! About £2000-2500 is probably the highest, some banks are less, unless you've ordered in more.

Maybe £10k between DP and I but obviously would struggle to get that in cash

Mixingitall · 20/03/2019 22:53

When paying builders last year I discovered that Hsbc won’t allow a transfer of more than £10k per day. So probably £10k via bank transfer and £500 from the cash machine, followed by the max amount via cash back!

MigThePig · 20/03/2019 23:04

Not sure but DS's piggy bank is feeling heavy at the moment....! Grin

MigThePig · 20/03/2019 23:04

I think he has more money than we do Blush

Mumsymumphy · 20/03/2019 23:06

Even with 24 hours notice I'd still have to write out an I.O.U

Strokethefurrywall · 20/03/2019 23:07

I'm amazed people feel happy answering this kind of question.

Why? Isn't everyone a stranger on the internet??

I could probably access quite a tidy sum but I also live offshore on an island under considerable scrutiny for anti-money laundering obligations so I suspect that I would get heavily questioned if I wanted to get a hold of said tidy sum...

And there are far wealthier people on this island to kidnap than me! 👍

Cornishclio · 20/03/2019 23:14

As most of our local banks have closed down I would have to go to our local city. Maximum cash withdrawal on one account is £700 and £250 on another account so £950 per day in cash until the bank account is cleared.

KeptTheBeachesShipwreckFree · 20/03/2019 23:26

50p?

IncyWincyGrownUp · 20/03/2019 23:30

Whatever is in my bank account, which is not a great amount.

No ransom from me I’m afraid! :o

Tiredmumno1 · 20/03/2019 23:31

GreenTulips 😂😂

grannieanne · 20/03/2019 23:39

53k in cash, 10k raiding my credit card limits, 1.5k one of the kids owes me, £500 owed by a business creditor, £600 in scrap gold i've been meaning to sell, 3k if I sold my car, 250k if I sold my house .... I'm worth more dead it seems !

AfterSchoolWorry · 20/03/2019 23:41

€30 ?

Can't believe some people have thousands to spare! I can't imagine how life would be!

MeAgainAgain · 20/03/2019 23:42

Most banks have limits on how much cash you can withdraw, for various reasons which can be annoying but are for good reasons.

I am interested where people can walk in and walk out with £x K cash with no more than 24 hours notice?

Are you using private banks? Do you keep it in safes etc?

I used to be able to do £5K at local bank and £10K + with some notice (max I took in one go was £20K) but that was years ago and I thought they had tightened up. Money laundering + protecting people from scams and that.

I'm properly intrigued!

DropZoneOne · 20/03/2019 23:49

We had to do this when buying our house! We'd ticked the box to say we were using our buyers deposit as the deposit for the house we were buying, so we expected to have to top up another £2k. Got a phone call on exchange day asking where our deposit was .... turned out buyers had 100% mortgage so no deposit! We had 24 hours to transfer £13k to the solicitors.

We had both just been paid, so emptied joint accounts and savings accounts, went into agreed overdrafts and then had to use credit cards for the last bits. We had other money but in notice-accounts so could release it but not in less than 24 hours.

AdoraBell · 21/03/2019 00:16

granie y DH is also worth more dead than alive. Now, if I happen to murder him in my sleep tonight I’ll get my hands on a million quid 😃
