I presume that’s what they are
Firstly I don’t have anxiety or any other mental health problem and never have.
I have been driving 12 years and have never had a problem. I drive for work, allover the country and also drive horseboxes/tow trailers in my spare time so am not a nervous sort of soul generally. I would have classed myself as a confident driver.
A few months ago I had a funny turn (vomiting) and had to be sent home from Work. During the drive I had an almost fainting episode in which I had to pull over on the motorway and be collected. Presumed that it was some sort of vertigo and forgot about it. Was I’ll for a few days then fine.
A couple of weeks after that I had a problem with a horse in the horsebox which was a bit hairy, again had to pull over at a motorway service station in a bit of a panic but all was resolved eventually and I drove home.
However, on 3 separate occasions I have had strange ‘episodes’ driving that are really stressing me out. Sweaty palms, hot feeling as though I might faint (but don’t), heart facing, nausea and an overwhelming feeling of I must pull over right now. Once I am out of the car I am 100% fine.
Does this sound like a panic attack and if so what on Earth do I do about it? As I say I drive daily (40miles or so at least) so can’t afford to have this issue, I’m starting to worry getting in the car that it might happen again now which is annoying.
I also really don’t want to drive the horsebox at all incase this happens, previously I wouldn’t think twice.
Has this happened to anyone else or am I going crazy
