Stress does funny things to the body, right?

DH is an extremely stressed workaholic. He goes through cycles of this and usually comes out the other side. This time, it’s only getting worse. It’s been building for months. I’ve been encouraging him to exercise, eat properly and he doesn’t smoke and barely drinks.

Last weekend he had a couple of what, if he wasn’t in his 50’s, I’d call febrile convulsions in the middle of the night. Absolutely flat out refused to go to the doctor and they were so brief I only had time to turn him on his side before he came round, although he did hit the floor like a sack of spuds. No family history of epilepsy, but he has had a couple of these before, but not for a long time. Back then they couldn’t find anything, so this time he refused to go to the doctors.

Today he’s been sent home from work. Had a sandwich and gone to bed, feeling dreadful. He’s reassured me he’s not got any chest pain. But he must be feeling ghastly to come home – he was due to be in a major meeting this afternoon.

I’m desperately worried and have FINALLY persuaded him to go to the doctor, he’s got an appointment on Friday and has promised me he’ll tell them what happened at the weekend.

I don’t even know why I’m posting really. I’m panicking a bit and it’s not like anyone can diagnose him through a computer screen.

It could all be stress, can't it?

I can't diagnose or help but stress is bad for your health and I'm glad you've persuaded him to see a doctor. It's so annoying that they're so stubborn sometimes. Mine has been told he has hight blood pressure but he refuses to believe it or do anything about it.

Thanks - and what a fabulous user name!

He's slept most of the afternoon but is definitely not himself. Quite zoned out. Yes, it's annoying, I agree Grin

Will see what Friday brings.

Stress can do all sorts of horrible things. I would get stomach upsets when changing jobs or moving house. As I got older, nosebleeds due to blood pressure spikes.
