Suddenly been charged insertion fees on Ebay

I'm just a private seller with a few Buy It Now listings. I tend to sell one or two items per month, and I currently have fifteen listings up.

I've just received a monthly invoice and they've charged me insertion fees for seven items. Now it's true that I relisted a few things in order to make them look later, and I'm also aware that "good till cancelled" listings technically relist themselves once a month. But I'm sure I'm well within my monthly twenty free listings, plus I'm sure they recently increased the monthly free listings to about a thousand or something, which I clearly never get anywhere near.

I can't even remember the last time I was charged insertion fees until just now.

What have I missed?

Every few months I check all my listings and templates and update them. Once, many years ago when you had to pay for almost every little thing, I was charged for photos which didn't display that I had removed and resubmitted. I had to fight to get a refund the first time and then it happened again so I just stopped listing until they fixed the problem. The site was much simpler then and the search engine worked, lots more items sold, now you really have to fight for everything. (I am going back a long time though, 10 - 12 years). They seem to be trying to make it more difficult to use every year.

Yeah I know. I'm seriously considering giving Vinted or Depop a try.

If you are selling non clothing you could try Ebid, have sold on there but forget about it as I am so used to Ebay.

Vintage clothing, Etsy.

Mind you, by the time you have fiddled about working out how a new site works you may as well just update your Ebay templates and settings until the next time they decide to change it all. And don't forget there will soon be Royal Mail increases.
