Please help me help my son!

Ds 8 is clearly unhappy atm and it's showing, he has been behaving disgustingly lashing out, smashing things up and being constantly rude and stubborn.

I've gone through asking him all the usual stuff like is he being bullied, but he just says no and " it just happens" when he gets angry having an outburst and can't control it.

I've already been to the gp and asked to be referred for specialist help, which they have done, however it's a 12-18 week wait and in the mean time he seems to be getting worse.

I just don't know what to do to help him anymore and as bad as it sounds I'm starting to get more and more upset and angry with him myself, I'm scared to wake him up in the mornings because I don't know what mood he's going to be in and the smallest thing sets him off.

He doesn't even speak anymore it's just a constant whine, it's making the whole house unhappy.

Is this a sudden change, or a recent change? Or has he always been like this and you are now just getting to the end of your tether ?

Is it just at home ? Just at school ? Or both? Or everywhere ?

He's pretty much always been like this, never with such anger though more like a constant stage of the terrible two's.

He's only like it at home, however he's starting to do it more in social settings, last week he ran off after his football session and I ended up driving half way up the road, just to jump out and grab him.
