Money saving tips anyone?

I have found myself in a pretty awful situation with my money Confused I do not have debts but definitely do not handle money well.

I have finally decided I need to sort this out!

Has anyone got any tips/money saving advice?

I have recently got a little basic advice on things such as comparison websites for things, but wondered how others keep costs down.

Hi OP - first, well done for not being in debt Wine Smile

First maybe do a budget of all your income and outgoings and then see where you might make some savings? Shopping around for utilities suppliers, insurance, phone etc is always a good idea.

Think twice about buying stuff.

Setting a budget/limits for things you tend to overspend on can help curb unnecessary spending (clothes budget per month, weekly food budget, etc) and goals to stop wastage (use up all face creams before next one purchased, cook a dinner for another day using waht's in before going to shop).

Start putting an affordable amount into a savings account at the beginning of each month and then move any remaining money into these savings at the end of the month (even if only a small amount).

You could take a look at this thread which is about debt reduction but gives some great advice on money management that you might find useful www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/3436092-a-thread-for-people-trying-to-pay-off-debt?pg=1

Good luck!
