Can I ask you about mindfulness?

I've already done an AS on the term but wouldn't mind learning a bit more from those well versed in the topic.

At what point do you start to see the benefits and what exactly are they?

I'm trying it out but as soon as I find a quiet moment I start to think about all manner of things - I've read that the mind is supposed to be entirely at peace and quiet iyswim? So not basically sitting there for 15 mins thinking about the meeting I have tomorrow or whether the salmon would be good for dinner etc etc.

Would it be good to follow a guided version on youtube to get into the swing of it to begin with?

TIA for any tips.

Download an app called Calm. It has guided meditations and things like that. It's really good :)

I'm not sure about mindfulness or how best to do it. I do meditate and if you can do that regularly you should become a less skatty minded. One simple way is to breathe slowly and count your out breaths up until, say 10, not as easy as it sounds but you can decide on maybe 4 to start, and aim to get to whatever number, maybe 40. If you make a mistake or lose track you start again.
