... to home based with overnight travel a couple of times a month? (Ie probably travel out evening, away full day back following evening a few times a month)
And if so did you (or your partner) regret it?
Looking at it solely from the impact on childcare (career/pay comes secondary ha!):
We’ve got two primary age kids, both of work full time regular office hours (with relative flexibility over start/finish times) and the option to work from home on an occasional ad hoc basis.
We’ve got no family help with childcare so use after school & holiday clubs.
I’m thinking the pros of having a parent at home a lot of the time will outweigh the occasional travel? Less need for juggling holiday clubs, and once the kids are in high school we don’t need to worry about them being home alone every day after school.
