My baby's hair looks greasy the day after washing

He's only 8 weeks old so I'm only bathing him 2-3 times a week however his hair looks greasy the day after I've washed it.
Is there anything I can use to stop this?

What are you washing it with?

I've tried Johnson's & Aveeno but both give the same results

You could try not washing with anything and see how it does after a few weeks?

I only started washing my kids hair with shampoo once they were about 1-2yo. Before that they had lovely soft fluffy baby hair that never smelled or got greasy so I only shampooed the one or two times I couldn’t get e.g. glue or jam out with water in the first couple of years.

I’d just use water.

Does he have cradle cap?

DS had this. It really bugged me (PFB so I wanted him to look perfect all the time!). One day it just stopped happening though. He probably was a couple of months old. I've noticed that Dentinox shampoo makes DD's hair lovely and fluffy (she has cradle cap) so maybe try that if you're really bothered.

I just used water until they were weaned, unless they'd got sick in their hair, then only a squirt of baby bath in the water.

If he likes a bath I'd just do it every night. We just laid DS down in 2 inches of bubbly water and ran that through his (thick from birth) hair by hand. Bath was part of the bedtime routine.

Could it be the hair changing colour? DS was born with black hair that grew out blonde and at first I kept thinking the ends were greasy when they were just a different colour to the hair close to the scalp.
