What did you call giving someone a lift on your bike?

And where in the country was it?

DH brought up near Birmingham called it a 'backie'

I was brought up in North Yorkshire, called it a 'croggy'.

Just seen a teenage lad giving a friend a handlebar croggy which is what brought it to mind!

Did anyone also put the plastic tags from loaves of bread onto their spokes?

Also putting an empty drink carton (10p ones) between the back wheel and the frame. When you then cycled it sounded like a motorbike.

We used to get coloured bits of plastic free with cereal packets for the spokes. Can't remember them in detail now.
