Decent gritty exfoliator face And one for body..

I used too use something called apri scrub? It was gritty and properly exfoliated body.

BUT I never seems too be able to find it a few year's ago.
And I bought what I thought was it and the texture was different...it wasn't as gritty.

Something sandy gritty and perhaps something less harsh for the face.

I've wasted quite a bit of money on one's that skim over skin... any product anyone can recommend... thanks

I have ended up making my own.

Before you cry "I am but a mere mortal, not a cosmetic goddess" mine are really simple, cheating really.

I buy a tub if sea salt and a bag of caster sugar, granulated if that's all I have. Then I add one or both to:

Olive oil
A favourite moisturiser
A favourite cleanser

Sometimes I just sprinkle them on a body mitt.

Works wonders and us cheap Smile

Meant to add, it means you can make a scrub that feels just right for wherever you use it.

I think that there was a problem with micro beads (that were used in scrubs) and the ocean. So lots stopped being made.

I use a lovely L'Occitaine bar of soap that I think has oatmeal bits in it(so biodegradable).

The clinique one used to be amazing for the body, not sure if they still do it. It was blue and minty

I am addicted to soap and glory flake away. I think it's meant for the body but I use it on my face - it's so invigorating!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 18/03/2019 19:26

My favourite face scrub ever (purely because of how gritty it is), is St. Ives apricot scrub- specifically the blemish fighting one

Amazing!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 18/03/2019 19:30

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece that’s the one I used to eat during pregnancy cravings! Grin

OP I like to make my own too. Soft brown sugar and whipped coconut oil. Use an electric whisk to whip it and it’s soft enough to scoop even in a cold bathroom. I prefer brown sugar to caster, it smells lush and is literally softer.

St ives apricot scrub is good

Thesearmsofmine · 18/03/2019 19:33

StIves Apricot Face Scrub. Lovely and scrubby!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 18/03/2019 19:34

Another vote for the St Ives apricot scrub. I'm sure you can get it in Sainsburys or Superdrug.

Thesearmsofmine · 18/03/2019 19:35

Definitely in Superdrug, they also do a travel size one so you could try that to see if you like it.

blondeemily · 18/03/2019 19:42

Was going to say St Ives Apricot Scrub too

Desperateforspring · 18/03/2019 21:18

Ok I think that's the one I used too use but I'm sure the texture changed? From properly scrubby and gritty too sort of ... more plasticity and smooth....

I'll try home made as well

Some good old Bicarbonate of Soda is brilliant as a scrub. But I understand what you mean about the difference between St Ives and apri scrub. I remember it being more 'scrubby'.

Mokepon · 18/03/2019 21:29

You need Korean Italy towels.
Awesome scrub if you use them properly.
But we're not supposed to like them because they're made of something bad for the environment I think. (I only found that out after I bought them.) They are resusable and washable though.
Baby soft skin guaranteed.

Mummyshark2018 · 18/03/2019 21:29

Boots no.7 exfoliating scrub for face.

TheLovelyOtherDinosaur · 18/03/2019 21:32

St ives apricot scrub specifically the blemish control one. The others in the collection are less gritty

Pinkiii · 18/03/2019 22:03

The loreal sugar scrubs are really good and smell delicious!
