Attending a course whilst on maternity

Hi guys just wanted to know if it is ok to attend a day course I have paid for whilst on maternity leave.

Is it related to your work? If it was through your employer then could it be a KIT day.

I don't know because I am mat leave? that's why I am asking as I am not sure, it's not like i am being paid to attend.

There was a location/location type programme where the woman studied for a trade qualification whilst on maternity leave from the civil service.
