What could be dd be ill with?

JUST WANTED TO SAY FIRST WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DOCTOR AND WAITING FOR A CALL BACK

Dd (5) has been feeling poorly since Saturday. High fever, tummy aches and just not herself.

We panicked a little yesterday as she was so burning hot, her heart beat was extra fast.

Luckily it was all a false alarm and after a dose of calpol she was fine.

She woke up in the night last night complaining of tummy aches and pain, but woke up this morning feeling ok.

Now here is where it’s getting odd. She is developing a rash all over her body. It started on her belly but has now spread over her chest, neck and ears.

It does blanch so I’m not too concerned but what could it be?

It’s not chicken pox. She’s already had that and these haven’t blistered. They do look like little round red dots though. About the size of a pox blister, but no blisters

Loads of viruses cause rashes. Kids get loads in first 5 or so years of life
Fever, grumpy, off food, miserable, snotty, rash.

Google viral exanthem

They normally start to feel better once the rash comes out so fingers crossed

No idea, may just be one of those weird generic viral infections that kids get, but it sounds horrid and I do hope she feels much better soon!

My ds has that at the moment!
I did wonder if it was scarlet fever but he says he doesn't have a sore throat. I think. He's only 2.5 so it's difficult to tell

Thank you. I do think its probably likely to be nothing but it’s not nice to see her looking so miserable

It might be scarlet fever or just a viral rash hopefully you gdt your call backsoon. But obviously if she worsens take her to A&E

Just waiting patiently now for the triage nurse to call...who will then either say a doctor will call back or go in.

More than likely.

She does seem to have a habit of picking up these infections which then disappears. So does ds.

Yet us poor adults end up really suffering whilst they run circles around us Grin

Just sounds like a viral/post viral rash.
If she’s alright in herself then I wouldn’t worry at all.

sounds like a 5th, 6th disease. My DD had it around age 5, fever first, then the rash appeared.

I should hope it’s not measles!

Both of my dc are fully vaccinated, but I do know it’s not 100% effective.

And yes I do think it’s either Scarlett fever or some unnamed random viral rash

My dd had measles and she was vaccinated, she had really high temps and feeling sick.
Did you google measuring rash?

My ds's rash is now receding btw. It was only covering chest and tummy and top of legs - now just legs and chest, so I think for my DS it's just a viral rash not scarlet fever.
Also waiting for a call back from the drs. As it's impossible to actually get an appointment within 3 months....

It’s a viral rash

Usual stuff about lots of fluid and calpol as needed. She will be fine

Unlike me who seems to be suffering now.

Just thought I would update

Some of the spots decided they were not going to blanch and she looked really poorly so we took her up to A&E.

She’s got infected tonsils which is what is causing the rash.

So we have antibiotics she needs to take for the next 5 days

The rash seems to have gotten worse. Instead of individual red spots, if now looks like a huge rash covering her front and back with little skin in between.

It does blanch so no panic and there’s no other symptoms apart from the normal sore throat she has at the moment.

So you think this is just her symptoms really coming out before they go?
