Anyone Who Knows Preston - Deepdale - Hotels

Does anyone know if there are any hotels within easy walking distance of Deepdale football stadium?

Or if there are supporter buses from the station to the stadium?

Thank you!

I haven’t been there for a long time but there used to be regular buses running right past the ground from town & lots of hotels in town right near the station.
It’s not a long journey I think maybe 10/15 minutes on the bus??

No hotels in deepdale. Frankly I wouldn't anyway!

Premier Inn near station is new. Get a cab up to the footy. It's bedlam on the streets on march day, cab is the way to go.

Thanks for the advice - you are confirming what I already thought!

If I get a cab to the stadium, how do I get back?!! It will be dark, so don't really want to be walking around when I don't know where I am going!

I’m pretty sure buses run along the road the football ground is on direct to town?

Thanks, Just. I will look into it.

Premier Inn to rail station for cab is about two minute walk plus cab. Easiest way.

Premier Inn to bus station is ten minute walk plus bus. Added bonus of admiring the brutalist architecture and formerly the suicide capital of Europe and the delightful aroma of wee disinfectant.

The hours I spent on that bus station as a kid. Still smells the same now shudders

I second the Premier Inn- cheapish, nice inside and close to the station.

Buses 19 and 6 both go from the town center to right outside the football ground- probably a 5-10 min walk to catch those buses from the hotel.

If getting a taxi, do so from one of the companies on the road you walk down to get from the station to the hotel- cheaper than from the station itself.

Totto's Italian restaurant is right next to the hotel- cheap and pleasant.

Food wise...the new bistro in the old Baptist church is fab.

Go out the premier inn, turn left and walk up towards the station. There's a road on your left for the fishergate centre car park. Walk up there. Building on the next corner on your right. It's staggering distance, maybe 2 minutes max. Food is really good, wine equally so. They've renovated the building beautifully.

In case any of you lovely people who commented on my thread are interested, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which is newly refurbished and the room was lovely! It was next to the bus station, and got the no 6 out there, and 19 back. All in all, it wasn't as difficult as I had thought it was going to be - my memories of previous visits there are horrendous, but that wasn't the case this time.
