I have the echo in the living room connected up to my Amazon account. All good.
Daughter would like a dot for her bedroom, it would also be connected to my Amazon account.
Would she be able to listen to her playlist on my account in her room at the same time that I am listening to mine downstairs?
Thanks

Playlist on what service? Not if they're from the same source, no, but if one was a Spotify playlist and the other Amazon music, then yes.

SingingLily · 17/03/2019 20:00

Yes, perfectly possible. DH and I have different tastes in music and often have our own playlists on in different rooms.

Oh, actually, in the UK do you have support for Amazon music family plan? You might be able to through that. (I'd forgotten about it since Amazon deem us in Canada as being undeserving of the same options as their UK and US customers.)

Yes. My DD is currently listening to music as she falls asleep. DS is about to play an audio story through his using the same account.

To play amazon music through 2 devices at the same time you need the family package.

Thanks. I have family sharing on Amazon. Yes we'd both be listening to separate playlists on my Amazon account.

Yes, you can set it up so you each have individual accounts for that kind if thing.

No idea how as 14yo DD did it when she got her Dot for Christmas!

guessmyusername · 17/03/2019 21:54

If she plans on playing a lot of music the echo would be better as it has better sound quality than the dot which can be a bit "tinny"
