People not replying to invitations

My dd is 12 and at her school the convention is that things like party invitations are still issued by the parents (ie the parent sends a text or email to the other parents). It’s dd’s birthday soon and I have invited a few girls to an activity. Some people replied straight away but some have not even though I sent a polite and “breezy” follow up after two days. I suspect the relevant girls just don’t want to come but I think it’s a bit rude not to reply... Why do people do that?

Your mistake is not to have put a request rsvp by x date. Then you can plan for those that have rsvp'd only.

You could sent a final message to say you have to book the activity on x date so to let you know if they are coming by then. If they dont reply then assume they are rude aren't coming.

Agree with PP, next time you need to put a date.
But yanbu it is very rude of them, takes a minute to check availability and reply.

Agree with pp. One final message. You need to know by X .No response and you'll take it that they won't be attending.
It's very rude. I've had this with children's parties.

Thanks - yes, you are right, I should have included a date...
